How are air freight charges calculated?
Airlines compare the actual weight and the volumetric weight of a shipment and bill the higher of the two. Destination, urgency, special handling and fuel also influence the invoice. Our guide on air freight cost breaks those factors down one by one. Our job as your forwarder is to compare the market and find the best price-to-transit combination for your shipment.
What transit times can I expect in air freight?
Express air freight reaches most major commercial destinations in 1 to 3 days, often less on the main lanes. Consolidated freight usually adds one to a few days depending on flight frequency. Our guide on how air freight works walks through every step of the journey.
Can dangerous goods be shipped by air?
Yes, within a strict framework: certified carriers, compliant packaging and IATA documentation. We coordinate the whole thing with qualified carriers, and classification of the goods remains the shipper’s responsibility.
Is air worth the cost compared to ocean?
It depends on the balance between urgency and volume: air wins on transit time, ocean wins on the cost of large volumes. The right answer is calculated shipment by shipment, and that is exactly what we do before recommending a mode.
